Sebenernya sih saya bukan orang yang hobi nonton TV ya. Kalau boleh milih, saya lebih suka belajar nonton konser musik-nya GreenDay ketimbang duduk manis di depan TV nonton Cinta Fitri. Tapi sejak tinggal di USA, karena TV dsini menawarkan lebih dari 100 channels dengan berbagai jenis tontonan, nonton TV menjadi salah satu must-to-do list hampir setiap harinya. Berikut adalah acara TV yang saya suka tonton (salah satunya dari Indonesia!): 1. Chelsea Lately Jenis acara : night talkshow Jadwal : Senin-Jumat 10.30 pm MTZ di E! Channel Why ? Chelsea Handler, si pembawa acara, adalah salah satu comedian America favorit saya selain Tina Fey dan Anjelah Johnson. Segala lontaran lelucon, pertanyaan, dan pernyataan dari mulut dia merupakan improptu. Karena improptu, kadang apa yang dia omongin suka ngasal dan kasar (and that's why I loved it). Dia adalah epitome bagi orang America yang liberal dan open-minded. Terlepas dari apapun yang keluar dari mulut dia, tapi setiap kali saya menonton...

I was terribly shocked to hear the news : According to The Daily Mail, singer Amy Winehouse has been found dead in her London home today (July 23). She was only 27 – the same age as Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones and Kurt Cobain (yes - all of these are great vocalists / musicians) when they passed away. Winehouse had been battling drug addiction for years; it has yet to be confirmed if an overdose was the cause of her death (it makes me even sad). She was best known for her 2006 Grammy Award-winning album Back to Black , which featured the hit single Rehab . Her talent will be missed. What I like about her is her authenticity of music. She wrote, recorded, and produced songs which captivate people with her powerful contralto voices and her eclectic music of various music genres including RnB, jazz, and soul. Thank you for these tears. RIP, sweetheart. :'(

If there's one thing I wanted to experience badly ever since I came to the U.S besides working my ass on thesis , that would be attending music concert. I definitely ♥ music. Some of my absolutely-have-to-watch concerts are Aretha Franklin's, BB King's, and Christina Aguilera's. Unfortunately none of them had had concert during my stay here. :( Anyway, here are recap for music concerts I have ever been (by date) in Denver : 1. Ke$ha (September 7, 2009) It was the first music concert I ever had in the U.S . I was not a fan her, tho I listened to some of her stuff. Ke$ha was really huge that year. She had 4 songs in top ten Billboard's chart. Yes, she sang live (though it was horrible beyond measured). Sound system was on control for any kind of her electro-pop songs. But I would rather described her 'concert' as party, not as a music concert. Best live act : when she opened the concert with Tik-Tok, the people went kuh-ray-zeeee ! The party has just started ...

Kali ini lagi pengen blogging untuk review album terbarunya Adele. Pertama kali denger suara Adele sekitar 2.5 tahun lali di Prambors FM. Sekali denger langsung klik, beda banget sama genre musik jaman populer itu (yang didominasi oleh Queen of Gimmick : Lady Gaga). Lalu sekitar 2 minggu lalu baru aja beli CD Adele teranyar '21'. Ngomong soal musik, buat saya ngga bakal ada habisnya. Soalnya sebage manusia yang doyan banget ngedengerin musik baik itu via radio ato lewat kaset/CD, saya punya banyak banyak lagu favorit. One Sweet Day, Angel, Everytime I Close My Eyes, Back At One, Irish, dll ... adalah segelintir lagu favorit saya sepanjang hayat dikandung badan. Waktu itu masih jam 10 malem. Belakangan ini hobi tidur malem. Lepas jam setengah 11 gitu baru bisa tidur. Biasa diisi dengan dengerin Pramborz ato utak-utik kompi mpe bosen ndiri. Ga tau kenapa gitu, kemaren malem, tiba2 aja pengen mengenang memori jadul jaman SD gitu. Setumpuk VCD musik bajakan langsung gw keluarin. Uda berdebu rata2. Huehue.. ketawa ndiri deh begitu liat koleksi VCD jaman SD dolo. Dolo waktu SD, seorang saya bisa2nya ngefans berat ama BackStreet Boys (BSB), Spice Girl, All Saint , dll... Yackzz... Tapi karena namanya memori, ya akirna tetep gw puterlah VCD konyol itu. Pertama dimulai dari Quit Playing Games With My Heart -nya BSB. OMG! It was my fav. song from those boys! Yah, tetep enak didengerlah, gw suka beat -nya. Video-klipna standar banget kalo dilihat hari gini. Lanjut berikutna ada Wannabe -nya Spice Girl. Yew, sebuah video klip yang sangat provokatif. But at least it very nice to bring & see the girls back to the top. Trus nonton video klip Never Eve...

Sebenernya siy biasa aja sama jenis musik tersebut pada judul di atas. Ga tau kenapa, belakangan lagi jadi doyan ngedenger musik blues dan jazz . Apalagi bluesnya macem Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Ray Charles atow jazzy ala Norah Jones, Diana Krall .. wah bener2 bikin lupa makan! *bisa kurus ga ya?* ;p~ Kmaren baru aja minjem CD mp3 dari Wahana . Ya itu, semenjak kena sindrom blues & jazz, bawaanna pengen ngedenger lagu blues & jazz mulu. Maklum, pertapaan buat kedua jenis lagu ini masih kurang. Kebanyakan denger hip-hop & R n B seh... Jadilah duit 4000 saya bertukar rupa dengan 2 keping CD mp3 bajakan . CD pertama memuat lagu2 blues - jazz dari jaman ga enak ampe Norah Jones menang 5 grammy. CD kedua memuat lagu2 Indonesia tergress. Gak salah minjem CD kedua ini. Ada mp3 Samson ma Letto euy! Dua band yang lagi hot-hotnya di kuping saya. Huwhuwhuw... how lucky! Oops.. uda mo jam 1, got to go for Numeric's class neh... Chayo!

Bah! Uda 2 hari ini badan saya rasanya ga enak banget! Mule dari pusing sebelah [kadang hari ini yang kiri, besoknya yang kanan], pilek, kondisi perut yang rada ga beres, n sekarang bagian hepar [hati] saya yang suka nyeri sendiri. Duh, wajib ke dokter neh. Kudu cek-up. Anyway, guys, taruhan deh. Pasti 9 dari 10 penonton TV Indonesia malem minggu kemaren pada nonton Konser Grand Final AFI II , ya kan? Emang sih, terlepas dari polemik yang booming + saingan ama Indonesia Idol, terpampang jelas kalo masyarakat Indonesia tuh kurang hiburan . Ga jelas, apa emang ini uda gelagatnya orang Indonesia or bukan. Kalo diadain kontes nebak orang sedunia, gampang banget buat nebak mana aja yang dari Indonesia. Simple, orang Indonesia tuh ciri2nya: serba instan + maunya menuntut tapi ga mau kalo dituntut. Pantes aja niy negara tetep aja berkembang dari jaman kemerdekaan tapi belom 'mpe sekarang belom juga mekar2 tu kembang...
